Barnsley Parents and Carers Forum

The Government has recently set up a new plan for helping disabled children and their parents and carers called Aiming high for Disabled Children. The purpose of this plan is to help families get the support and chances they need to live ordinary family lives.

Part of the Government program involves establishing forums where parents and carers can tell local authorities how to make services better. The Barnsley Parents and Carers Forum is the first step in creating the formal organisation required by the program for our borough.

It is important to get involved in our forum as the Goverment has commited substantial funding to the plan and is asking parents and carers to influence how the money is spent.
